Bedford 4 Monroe 5 Bedford 9 Monroe 2
Game 1: Veronica Holmes gave a gutsy performance on the mound, but the Lady Mules just came a bit shy in their come back bid. Sasia Blochowski hit the seasons first homerun, slamming a long drive deep over the left field fence. Kara Fox, Stacey Nagy, Veronica Holmes, Jessica Buehrer, Aniese Wilkinson, Mallory Rinckey, Ashley Sperling, and Alexis Stock all had base hits.
Game 2: The hitting barrage continued, only this time it resulted in more runs. The girls scored 5 in the first inning and never looked back. Gabby Melnyk picked up her first win giving a strong performance on the mound. Kara Fox was once again outstanding behind the plate.

First, Mallory Rinckey made a diving catch in center that would have resulted in multiple runs for Notre Dame. Later Kara Fox, blocked several pitches in the dirt to keep runners from advancing, and finally Sasia Blochowski knocked down a line drive between shortstop and third and threw the runner out at first to end the game.
4-25-08
Bedford 5 Wyandotte Roosevelt 8
Gabby Melnyk gave a nice performance on the mound, but the Lady Mules bats and gloves just could not seem to get it going until it was too late. Trailing 8-1 in the bottom of the seventh, the girls put up a fight closing the lead to three with the tying run at the plate, but Roosevelt made a couple of nice plays and the game was lost.
The girls will be busy this week, playing a double header at home tonight against Southgate Anderson, a single game tomorrow at home against Clay. On Wednesday they travel to Whitmer to take on the Lady Panthers.
4-29-08

Veronica Holmes pitched the complete game competed hard even though it was clear she wasnt at her best.

Bedford 11 Whitmer 0
What a difference a day makes. The Bedford girls came out of the gates with a boom and never looked back. They led 5-0 after two with base hits by Kara Fox, and singles by Sasia Blochowski, Ashley Sperling, Satcy Nagy, and Alexis Stock. But, the biggest blow was a three run homer by Mallory Rinckey.Rinckey was also superb in the outfield running down several flys and cutting off potential run scoring base hits. Beth Martin and Aniese Wilkinson also made outstanding plays in the outfield. Veronica Holmes showed what she is made of by slamming the door shut on the Panther hitters. Her three hit shutout was her best performance of the year. The players want to extend their best wishes to Gabby Melnyk. She has been under the weather this whole week and the team misses her.
