Ypsilanti Relays
On Saturday, the varsity girls track team traveled to Ypsilanti High School for relays. The team placed in four events. High Jump placed second behind Alex Jilek best of 5’4’’ and teammate Katy Woda. Pole Vault placed 5th with Katelyn Smith jumping 9’ and teammate Natalie Folk clearing 7’. Kate Calhoun placed 4th in the open mile with a time of 5:36. The 1600 medley consisting of Amanda Zittleman, Katie Bollin, Robin Brown, and Candice Kent placed 6th.

Bedford Field Events scored well against the states number one team. Long Jump Katie Bollin placed second 15’ 9’’ and Robin Brown placed third 15’ 7’’. Discus Katie Giese placed first 83’ and Shelly Willet placed third 81’. Pole Vault Brooke Green placed first 10’ and Katelyn Smith placed second 9’ 6’. ’High Jump Alex Jilek placed second 5’2’’. Errinn Calhoun won 3200. Kate Calhoun won 1600m 5:27 and Kallie Johnston placed second 5:47. Anna Hays placed third in 100m hurdles 17.07

Bedford Girls varsity placed 5 in the state finals.
The incredible finish was Katie Bollin in Long Jump she needed a jump of 16'6'' to go and she jumped 16'9''.50 her best jump of the season.
Kate Calhoun ran her best 3200 run with a time of 11:20 placing third.
Alex Jilek jumped 5'2'' finishing in second place
Two pole vaulters are on their way to state Katelyn Smith finishing second at 9'6'' and Brooke Green fourth at 9'6''
Two other girls placed at regionals but did not qualify for state
