Lindsay Miller was the player of the day. She played a complete match from start to finish. Lindsay was able to move her opponent to the corners and follow in her shots to put the points away with volleys. She didn't lose a single game and finished her match in under an hour.

Lindsey Thompson and Ashley Foster played their best match of the year. Their game has recently come together as they settle into the new system. They we most effective with serves and from the net with volleys. They kept unforced errors to a minimum and moved well together to get the win. Leah Turigliatto came back from a 0-6 first set to win her match in three. Consistent groundstrokes and lateral movement were the main factors for her win.

Bedford Invitational

Bedford Invitational Team results:

Going into the final round, Pioneer had a one point lead. They won in all but two flights in the third round to extend their lead by a point. Bedford won two out of the three third round matches with Pioneer, but dropped two close matches with SMCC. The team played well and every position scored team points.

Leah Turigliatto and Paige Arnold and Marie Davin went undefeated for the day. At #4 Singles, Kristin Rosanski finished in a three-way tie, but Kristin earned first place because she won more sets throughout the day. Paige and Marie were the players of the day. They only lost 7 total games and didn't lose a set all day.

Lindsey Thompson and Ashley foster only lost four total points in their entire match. They attacked the net with serve and volleys and put points away once they were both up. They had great control of their volleys and placed them deep onto the middle of the court, splitting their opponents. Lindsay Miller went into a third set and came out on top for her first three set victory of the year. Kendra Doxsie and Nadine Blake stepped up to the varsity lineup on short notice and played well together. Their serves were too much for Lincoln to handle and they held serve through their entire match. The team is gaining momentum as they reach the middle of their season, and looking forward to continuing with their winning ways.

The Mules took down another SEC rival Wednesday and extended their undefeated season to 4-0. After a slow start, Bedford took control of the majority of their matches. Diane Norris and Megan Gross adjusted well to their opponents' style and quickly finished off the second set by winning points off serves and their volleys. Lindsay Miller is becoming a reliable player at the number one position. She moved her opponent well with her heavy groundstrokes and came in on her approach shots to put points away. Leah Turigliatto (sophomore) is beginning to find success with more pace on her strokes. She's done work in practice to target this area of her game and it's starting to show.

With everyone back in the lineup from injuries and vacations, the girls earned their fifth victory of the season. Paige Arnold and Kathy Lorenz played a great doubles match. They outplayed their opponents at the net with volleys and overheads. Haley McClure had no trouble getting a win for the team today. She played consistent tennis and had her most successful day at the net. Haley has been progressing well since changing her volley grip to a continental.

Green Hills Invitational
Bedford wins the Greenhills Invitational.
The doubles teams lead the way for the Mules. Bedford received early first place finishes at #3 doubles Diane Norris and Megan Gross and #4 doubles Paige Arnold and Kathy Lorenz. #1 singles Lindsay Miller and # 1 doubles took second place and #2 singles Leah Turigliatto, #3 Joslyn Roth, and #4 Haley McClure all took third place. With the tournament coming to a close, Bedford had a 1 point lead against Loy Norrix and one match still remaining against them. They held the team tiebreaker against us, so it was a must-win for Bedford. #2 doubles Lindsey Thompson and Ashley Foster took the first set 6-3, but Loy Norrix rebounded to take the second 4-6. After falling down in the third set 3-4, Lindsey and Ashley took the next three games to wrap up an individual first place and the team win for Bedford.

Bedford 15 points, Loy Norrix 13 points, Ann Arbor Greenhills 11, and Jackson Lumen Christi 9.

The ladies suffered their first loss of the season. Leah Turigliatto played well and finished her opponent in two sets. Josyln lost a close three set match after being up 4-3 in the third set. The ladies look forward to seeing Huron again in the SEC tournament for a rematch.

Ranked number two in the state, Pioneer brought a well-prepared team to battle for positioning at Regionals. The girls played well and took many of the games into deuce. They traded with Pioneer early on, but were overwhelmed by their experience. The girls look to shift gears and get back to winning against upcoming Dearborn Divine Child and SEC rival Saline.

Diane Norris and Megan Gross played their best match of the year, but came up just short. Their strong volleys and well placed overheads gave them an early lead in the first set. After getting the score to 5-4, they dropped the next three games. They quickly bounced back and stayed with Saline until Diane's serve was broken late in the second set.
