Trent Szkutnik, Freshman, made his varsity debut Saturday for the Bedford baseball team. Szkutnik came in relief in the first inning and pitched seven innings of no-hit ball with 10 strikeouts.

Dave digby pitched a 4 hit game but came up a bit short to the strong Grass Lake squad. Leading the Mules in hits was Chad Mauter going 2 for 4.

Shane Shroyer and Kayl Talboo pitched had pitching duties for the Mules. Matt Drew led with 2 HR's and 5 RBI's.
The Championship game was called due to storms in the 3rd inning with the Mules leading Quincy 9-0.

Bedford was led by a Grand slam by Tyler Gill and a 2 run double by Chad Mauter. Gill and Shane Shroyer combined for a very strong outing on the mound.

The Mules battles back from a 4-1 deficit to finally fall to the Railsplitters 6-5 in the bottom of the 7th. Kayl Talboo kept the Mules going with 2 hits and Bobby Schoch, Mitch Hooven and Shane Shroyer had pitching duties for the Mules.

Kayl Talboo threw a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts in a 5-0 blanking of Grass Lake. Freshman Dan Przeniczny was the winning pitcher in a 13-2 rout of Hudson Josh Clark had seven hits, Matt Drew added six hitsand Mitch Hooven and Shayne Shroyer had five hits on the day. Chad Mauter, Matt Drew and Nate Davis hit home runs.

Bobby Schoch pitched 4 perfect innings with 7 strikeoutsto get the win. Robert Jakubowski had 3 RBI and Jake Krueger added 2 RBI. Trent Szkutnik had 2 hits. Defense played good as the Mules pitchers struckout 8 and gave up no hits and no walks. Aaron Dick closed the game.

Robert Jakubowski pitched very well in game one but got the loss. In both games Drew Hendrick had 3 hits and Jared Kujawa had 4. Jake Krueger also pitched well in starting game 2. Defense was solid at times. A couple mental lapses cost the Mules in game one and the lack of a timely hit was their doom in game 2.

David Digby earned the victory in game 1 and Dan Przeniczny picked up the save. Nick Fry had the game winning hit in the 6th. Drew Hendrick picked up two hits from the leadoff spot. Defense was good. Trent Szkutnik got the win in game 2. Jared Kujawa had 3 hits including 2 doubles. Digby homered in the first inning. Aaron Dick had 2 RBI in game 2. Timely pitching and good defense led to 21 runners left on base for Clay. Great team effort.

Game 1 winner was Bobby Schoch who gave up one hit and had 10 strikeouts with no walks. Jared Kujawa went 3-4 with 2 doubles and an inside the park homerun, 4 RBI. Jake Krueger and Nick Fry added RBI hits.
Game 2 winner was Jared Kujawa who struck out 11 in 6 innings. Robert Jakubowski got the save. Bedford trailed 6-2 in the top of the seventh but scored 7 runs to take the lead. David Digby, Dan Przeniczny, and Drew Hendrick all hit 2 run doubles in the seventh. Aaron Dick also added 2 hits including a double.

Game one winner was Dan Przeniczny. Bedford gave up 3 runs in the top of the first but came right back and scored 7 runs to take the lead in the bottom half. Nick Fry had 3 hits and 3 RBI. Bobby Schoch and Drew Hendrick also had 2 RBI each. Dominic Fetterly drove in a run. Defense was solid.
Game two winner was Jake Krueger. Dan Przeniczny had 3 hits, all doubles. Jake Glenn scored 3 runs and had 2 RBI. Aaron Dick added 2 hits and 2 RBI. The Mules as a team had 8 doubles in both games while only giving up 5 hits.

Game one was filled with mental mistakes, throwing mistakes, and the lack of a big hit. The mules stranded 13 runners including 7 in scoring position. Game two was a totally different story as Jake Krueger pitched an outstanding game and earned a complete game win. Defense was great in game 2. Bobby Schoch had 5 hits on the day and drove in 3 of the 4 runs. David Digby had 2 doubles in game 1.

Jake Glenn got the win and Robert Jakubowski earned the save. Nick Fry and Dan Przenicany both had two hits and drove in runs. Jared Kujawa did a great job behind the plate blocking the ball. Matt Lazette ended the game with a falling/diving catch in left field for the final out.

Two tough losses for starting pitchers Trent Szkutnik and Robert Jakubowski as they both pitched really well. Dan Przeniczny homered in game one and Matt LaZette added two hits. In game 2 Jared Kujawa drove in 2 runs and Jake Krueger drove in a late run to tie it up.

Nick Fry pitched 6 shutout innings, scattering 5 hits. In game 2 Drew Hendrick had a 2 run single late to lead a come from behind win. Robert Jakubowski also drove in 2, one on a squeeze play. Jared Kujawa hit one homerun in each game finishingwith 6 RBI on the day and 4 runs scored.

Nick Fry, David Digby, Matt LaZette, Dominic Fetterly, and Jake Krueger all had RBI doubles in the 2nd inning. Mules had 7 extra base hits in the second inning to plate 8 runs.

Game 1 winner was Drew Hendrick and game 2 winner was Nick Fry. Fry and Trent Szkutnik both had 4 hits in game 1. Bobby Schoch had 3 RBI in game 1 and Drew Hendrick doubled. In game 2 every Mule that played had a hit. Matt Lazette and Jake Glenn each had 2 hits. Jared Kujawa tripled and Jake Krueger drove in a run.

Jake Krueger earned the win as he and Robert Jakubowski allowed only 3 hits with 11 strikeouts in 5 innings. Dan Przeniczny and Jared Kujawa hit back to back homers on consecuitive pitches in the 3rd inning. Kujawa drove in 3 runs. Matt LaZette and Drew Hendrick both drove in 2. Everyone played and played well. Great team effort.

Matt Walling Earned the win on the hill throwing 3 innings of scoreless baseball, only giving up 2 hits with 4 strikeouts. Bedford got the bats going early with five players having a multiple hit game. Lee Hullibarger went 2-2, Troy Przyblek 2-4, Brad Swank 2-3, Aaron Mills 2-4, and Nate Crooks 3-4. Collectively Bedford had 13 hits and many contributing RBI's.Jackson Earl closed the game out with a scoreless inning.

Mules compiled 10 hits on the day. Troy Przyblek went 3-3 adding an RBI and 2 stolen bases, while Mike Blake and Brad Swank added two hits a piece. Lee Hullibarger, Zach Mayo, and Matt Walling also contributed on offense each with hits. Nate Crooks led the Mules on the mound pitching 4 solid innings, having 7 strikeouts, and only allowing 2 hits.

The Mules struck early, putting up 2 runs in the first inning, supporting their pitcher Matt Walling who threw an incredible 5 inning shutout allowing only 2 hits and having 2 strikeouts. With strong play in the field the Mules took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth where they tagged on 8 runs to close out the game. Zach Mayo and Matt Walling led the charge at the plate going 2-3 with 2 RBI's a piece. Adding hits were Nate Crooks, Aaron Mills, Nathan Piechorowski, Troy Przyblek, and Brad Swank.

Striking early and never looking back the Mules helped pitcher Troy Przyblek earn his first victory of the season on the hill pitching 3 innings of shutout and hit-less ball. Leading the attack on offense were Jordan Pakulski and Jackson Earl each with 2 RBI's a piece. Evan Splan came in middle relief on the hill holding St. Marys to no runs for 2 innings and Mike Blake closed it out. Bedford totaled 7 hits as a team.

Game 1
Mules improve to 5-0 on the season behind the outstanding pitching of Nate Crooks. Crooks controlled the game on the hill pitching 6 solid innings, striking out 13, only surrendering 3 hits. Mike Blake kept the offense in gear going 2-2, with a second inning home run to right center field. Aaron Mills added 2 hits while Nate Crooks, Zach Mayo, Jordan Pakulski, Brad Swank, and Matt Walling each added a hit a piece.

After an early deficit of 3 runs, the Mules battled back to put up 4 runs in the top of the third inning. Leading the offensive attack were Troy Przyblek and Brad Swank each with 2-out hits, Swank's being a double knocking in 2 runs. Saline battled back adding runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings. A late rally came up short for the Mules who couldn't convert in the final innings.

A solid pitching performance by Matt Walling on the hill wasn't enough as the Mules couldn't get the bats going on offense. With a Dean Stewart hit knocking in a run in the bottom of the 6th to cut the Hornets lead to 1, the Hornets fired back scoring 3 in the 7th to secure a 5-1 win. Bedford scattered 7 hits on the day with Nate Crooks, Mike Blake, Zach Mayo, and Troy Przyblek, and Matt Walling contributing. Walling finished the day pitching 5 1/3 innings striking out 3, scattering 6 hits, and only 3 earned runs.

Bedford struck early in the first taking a 2-1 lead off of hits by Matt Walling, Aaron Mills, and Troy Przyblek knocking in a run. Aaron Mills, making his debut on the mound, was able to hold the Hornets pitching 4 innings and only allowing 3 runs on 3 hits. Dean Stewart and Jordan Pakulski also added a hit a piece. Troy Przyblek came in relief to pitch holding the Hornets and allowing Bedford to tie the game up in the bottom of the 5th inning. Due to darkness play was not able to conclude and this barn burner will have to be finished at a later date.

The Mules collected 17 hits as a team to put up 15 runs on board. Troy Przyblek led the attack going 3-4 and knocking in a run, while 11 of his teammates added a hit to add to the offense. Nate Crooks got the win on the hill with 5 strike outs. Jackson Earl Closed out the game throwing 2 scoreless innings.

Bedford jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Behind an outstanding pitching performance by Evan Splan, who pitched 6 innings allowing 5 hits and stiking out 10 Maples to pick up his first win of the seaon on the mound, several Mules contributed on offense.
Nathan Piechorowski led the attack going 2-3 and knocking in 2 runs. Also adding 2 hits a piece were Mike Miller, Jordan Pakulski, and Brad Swank.
Collectively the Mules had 13 hits.

Leading the charge was Zach Mayo with a lead off homerun to left field.
The Mules kept the attack on with 4 more hits in the inning and never looked back. Mayo went 3-5 with 3 RBI's and a homerun. Mike Blake and Matt Walling added 2 hits a piece on the day helping Jordan Pakulski earn his first victory on the hill this season. Mike Blake came in relief pitchig 4 innings, allowing no runs with 2 strikeouts.

The bats were hot for both teams right out of the gate in the Championship Game of the Airport Invatational Tournament. After the Mules took a commanding 12-5 lead going into the fourth inning, Monroe kept chipping away little by little. Nine Mules players had hits in the game. Nate Crooks came in to relieve starter Troy Przyblek on the Mound putting an end to the Trojans comeback. Matt Walling came into pitch in the sixth inning with a 13-13 tie and threw 2 innings of shutout baseball to earn the win and the save on the mound. Bedford scored 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal a victory and Tournament Championship. Nate Crooks led the Mules at the plate going 4-4 with 2 RBI's while Aaron Mills and Troy Przyblek went 2-4 and 3-4 respectively, each adding 2 more RBI's.

After going down 2-0 early, the Mules fired back with 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning and held their lead the rest of the game. Only compiling 5 hits as a team Bedford was able to capitalize. Mike Miller led the Kicking Mules going 2-2 on the day. Lee Hullibarger, Aaron Mills, Brad Swank, and Matt Walling each added an RBI a piece. Aaron Mills pitched a strong 6 and 1/3 innings with 6 strike outs. Nate Crooks came in the seventh inning to pick up the save on the hill.

Bedford heated up the bats right from the start of this one compiling 15 hits as a team. Mike Blake, Jackson Earl, Mike Miller, and Aaron Mills each had 2 hits while Matt Walling had 3 hits on the day. Mills, Miller and Walling also added 3 RBI's a piece. Evan Splan took control on the mound pitching a complete game only surrending 4 hits and fanning 3 River Rats.

Mike Blake pitched shutout baseball picking up his first win of the season as he totaled 4 strikeouts on the day. Bedford heated up the bats on the offensive end as Jordan Pakulski, Dean Stewart, and Matt Walling each chipped in with 2 hits a piece while Aaron Mills added 3 RBI's himself.
Nate Crooks added his first home run of the season taking one out to left field.

Mike Miller and Aaron Mills led the offensive attack going 2-3 and 2-2 respectively. The two combined knocked in 7 of the 12 runs for the Mules.
Evan Splan, Lee Hullibarger, Zach Mayo, Jackson Earl, Mike Miller, Dean Stewart, and Matt Walling all added hits as well. Jackson Earl pitched a solid shutout allowing just 2 hits and having 8 strikouts.

After trailing 3-0 early, the Mules were able to get back on track with hits from Jordan Pakulski, and Brad Swank. Matt Walling was able to knock in a run to help himself out for his fourth win on the hill. Walling threw a solid 6 innings allowing only 5 hits and striking out 2. Zach Mayo was able to put the Mules up for good with a lead off homerun in the fourth.
Matt Walling and Brad Swank each recorded 3 hits in the game while Mike Blake and Aaoron Mills added 2 hits a piece. Mills picked up the save on the hill as well.

In a thriller which had the Mules trailing 6-0 after 3 innings of play, Matt Walling got things going with a lead off homrun in the fourth. The Mules were able to tag on two more runs in the fourth with hits by Brad Swank and Mike Blake, each who scored on wild pitches. Bedford took command of the lead on the fifth with a lead off double by Zach Mayo followed by yet another homerun from Matt Walling. Again Brad Swank and Mike Blake were able to reach base, who then got knocked in by a Nate Crooks 3 run homerun to take the lead 8-6. The Kicking Mules surrended the lead in the bottom of the fifth, but were able to gain it back on a 3 run homerun by Aaron Mills in the top of the sixth inning. Mike Blake came in relief of Nate Crooks on the mound picking up the win and the save.

The hitting never let up for the Mules who recorded 21 hits as a team, having 12 players with a hit. Jackson Earl led the charge going 5-5 at the plate, scoring 4 runs and knocking in 2. Matt Walling added a 3-3 performance knocking in 3 runs, while Lee Hullibarger, Aaron Mills, Nathan Piechorowski, and Dean Stewart added 2 hits a piece. Hullibarger knocked in 3 runs. Evan Splan and Jackson Earl held the Rams scoreless on the hill allowing no runs.

Behind the outstanding pitching of Matt Walling the Mules were able to collect 12 hits as a team. Walling threw a complete game shutout allowing just 4 hits and fanning one to pick up his fifth win of the season on the hill. Bedford got on the board early with 3 runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. Zach Mayo and Troy Przyblek led the charge each going 3-4 at the plate and adding 1 and 2 RBI respectively. Jordan Pakulski chipped in with a 2-2 performance while Aaron Mills added 2 RBI's. The Mules as a team played very solid defense.

Trailing 1-0 after 1 inning of play the Mules were able to get back on track putting up 2 runs in the second and two in the third inning which turned out to be enough to seal the victory. Nate Crooks, Zach Mayo, and Matt Walling Each had two hits on the day while Lee Hullibarger, Mike Miller, Aaron Mills, and Troy Przyblek added hits as well. Evan Splan displayed an excellent pitching performance with a complete game 6 hitter, while striking out 5.

The Mules could never get over the hump and get the bats going after trailing 5-1 early in the game. The Mules only collected 4 hits as a team.
Matt Walling chipped in with 2 hits, while Mike Miller and Aaron Mills added a hit a piece. Nate Crooks battled on the hill stiriking out four Chelsea hitters.

Waking up the bats early in the game the Mules were able to knock in 6 runs in the first inning and never look back. Jordan Pakulski, Troy Przyblek, Evan Splan, and Dean Stewart each recorded 2 hits in the game while Przyblek and Stewart knocked in 3 and 2 runs respectively. Bedford had 12 hits as a team helping the aid of pitcher Aaron Mills who threw a complete game and was able to fan six Bulldogs.

Bedford came out of the gates in the first two innings making solid defensive plays, but struggled to get the offense going. A third inning rally by Saline, including a grand slam and a homerun, left the Mules down 7-0. Bedford was able to fight back little by little in the later innings, but couldn't muster up enough to take the lead. Mike Blake relieved starter Matt Walling pitching 4 innings and only allowing 3 hits and no earned runs. Aaron Mills led the Mules at the plate going 2-3 with 2 RBI on a homerun to left field. Mike Miller, Nathan Piechorowski, Dean Stewart, and Matt Walling also added a hit a piece for the Mules.
Bedford 9 Ann Arbor Huron 3
Bedford got going early in the first inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd Jordan Pakulski stepped up the the plate and hit his first homerun of the season to center field. The Mules were able to tag on another run in the inning and never look back. Behind the solid pitching of Troy Przyblek and Evan Splan who held Huron to 8 total hits, the Mules were able to collect
9 hits as a team. Lee Hullibarger and Jordan Pakulski led the Mules with 2 hits a piece. Mike Miller came in for a pinch hit 3 run homerun in the 6 inning to seal the victory for Bedford. Adding hits were Nate Crooks, Jackson Earl, Nathan Piechorowski, and Dean Stewart.

The Bedford Mules Freshman Baseball team took on the Ida Blue Streaks Junior Varsity team to close out the season. The Mules were able to take the lead early, putting up 2 runs in the first inning and 1 in the second.
A solid pitching performance by Aaron Mills allowed the Mules to secure a victory. Mills threw a complete game allowing 7 hits, no earned runs, and striking out 9 Blue Streak hitters. On the offensive end Zach Mayo and Troy Przyblek led the way with 2 hits a piece, along with hits from Mike Blake, Lee Hullibarger, Mike Miller, and Matt Walling. The Mules finished the season with an outstanding 22-5-1 overall record!!!!
